Call for Submissions for The Dramatist 2021 Season in Review

web site

Deadline: Thursday, April 22, 2021 11:59pm EDT

SUBMISSION FORM

Were you a part of something in your theatrical community from May 1, 2020 through May 1, 2021 that you think we should include in the 2021 Season in Review? We want to hear from you.

In the past, the Season in Review issue has comprised of a round-up of professional productions and premieres that have taken place across the country. This year, with many theatres and companies closed, we are re-directing our aim and focus of this issue to be more inclusive of the many ways in which we have been directing our energy over the last year to make things happen.

Submissions are due no later than Thursday, April 22 at 11:59pm EDT. We will not consider any submissions we receive after that date/time.

We are particularly interested in:
  • Online or streamed productions of new works;
  • Online or streamed programs in which new works were supported, developed, nurtured, or progressed;
  • Programs and initiatives by arts organizations and theatres that nurtured the development of new works in progress and/or the dramatists creating them;
  • Arts funding schemes that may have made an impact on theatrical communities and the creation of new works in progress;
  • Regional opportunities for engagement by local dramatists;
  • The formation or creation of communities in which the formation of new writing was nurtured;
  • The formation or creation of affinity organizations or programs that might lift up or foster marginalized voices or the voices of those that may have historically been less represented in the American Theatre;
  • Innovative ways in which arts institutions, creative professionals, and more have adapted to meet the demands of the state of our industry throughout the last year.
Your submission will be passed along to the closest Regional Representative or Ambassador in your region. Although we wish we could include everything, ultimately, it will be the call of the Rep, Ambassador, and the Editorial team at DG, and we may not be able to include all the submissions we receive.
