Starting immediately, American Stage Theatre Company will begin accepting submissions for new plays that

1. are full-length, female-centered stories, and

2. only require 4 actors.

The winning play will be considered for future fully-realized production.

DETAILS

Playwrights should submit 3 items only:

1. 1 copy of your play (author’s name must not appear anywhere on the script to ensure blind judging)

2. A synopsis not to exceed 200 words

3. On a separate sheet of paper include your name, title of play, cast list, your mailing address, your email address, your phone number, and a statement awarding American Stage Theatre Company the right to produce your play at our Festival, should it be chosen

SUBMISSION INFORMATION:

Submissions must be postmarked by July 1, 2012 to be considered this season. Any received after that date will be considered for the following season.

Plays must not exceed a cast of four actors (double-casting is allowed, but must be clearly stated in your 200-word synopsis). Plays must be original, unpublished, and unsolicited by agents (legal clearances of materials not in the public domain are the full responsibility of the playwright).

Scripts will only be returned if accompanied by a SASE.

We will judge the plays “blindly”, which means that your name will be unknown to us until your play is chosen.

Chosen Authors must be available (via email or phone) for consultation with producer and/or director prior to production dates and are encouraged to attend the Festival.
