Playwrights, grab your quills! Do you have a sharp idea for an interesting one-act play? If so, you’re in luck. Trinity Church Arts Committee is sponsoring a playwrights competition featuring cash prizes and the chance to have your work honored at an awards reception.

We’re seeking unproduced and unpublished one-act plays of no longer than 30 pages. The idea is up to you, but the subject should be in keeping with the theme “Change and Transition.” There’s no entry fee, just a hard and fast deadline: Saturday Oct. 15, 2011 at 9PM. We will begin accepting entries Sept. 15, 2011. The play must be submitted via email in Microsoft Word format.

The first-prize winner will receive $500 and earn a reading of his/her play. The second-place winner will receive $200 and the third-place winner will receive $100.

All winners and finalists will receive a certificate of merit.
