The Joust Theatre Company is on the lookout for new plays to produce for its first ever playwrights’ workshop series! Over the course of 2017, the Joust will produce four workshops of brand new plays, providing a platform where playwrights can test out new ideas and let their work take shape. We are looking for playwrights of all backgrounds and levels of experience whose work is in line with the Joust’s mission to tell relevant, sensitive and fearless stories. If your play is chosen for the series, we will provide you with:
Rehearsal and performance space
360° marketing
Actors and a director, depending on your needs
A modest stipend
We are accepting finished plays as well as works in progress. If you would like to submit your work for consideration, please send the following to joustliterary@gmail.com:
- Resume
- Cover Letter
- Draft of Play you would like to be considered
- Work Sample if play is unfinished
- Any technical needs or people/things you feel are crucial to a workshop of your play (eg. specific director, set piece, actor, etc.)
- Any giant conflicts in 2017
