1- Our short play festival “This Round’s On Us” (about 10 minutes) *
2- The Political Play series (Full Length about 90 min) Note: Submissions do not have to be about Politics per se, but must be about topics that are socially and/or culturally significant.
3- The TV-style project (Episodic sitcom sample script- 20-30 pages) for **The New Situation Company. We are interested in writers residing in New York, as the team will be meeting frequently during script development. If you do not live in the New York area but would like us to consider your work, feel free to send in your sample script, as we would like to feature guest writers in the project as well.
“This Round’s On Us” TRAVEL TIME
We are accepting new works for our 2016 This Round’s On Us festivals. The plays do not necessarily have to be set in these time periods, but they should at least be informed by the social, cultural and/or political happenings of the time. Whether you find inspiration in the movies, music or theater of a particular decade, the major events that formed the historical narrative or which have been ignored by history, or the everyday lives of people in the bygone days of the not-so-long-ago, you can send your 10-minute play to NylonSubmissions@gmail.com
This Round’s On Us festivals new theme of Connecting/ Disconnecting, exploring the digital world, past and present, and how technology brings people (places or things) together while also putting new forms of separation between them. It can take place in any time period -
We welcome creative application of the theme!
