OUTLIERS Theatre Co. is seeking submissions for PLAY DATE: SUMMER 2016. Our inaugural PLAY DATE program will feature previously unproduced works by female playwrights. Each playwright will be provided with up to four hours of free rehearsal space and the opportunity to showcase their work in a public reading on August 2nd, 2016 at the Access
Theater.
Who is eligible to apply?
Female playwrights the in NYC area. All submissions must be previously unproduced and run between 60 and 120 minutes.

How is the PLAY DATE program structured?
Selected playwrights will receive 4 hours of free rehearsal space at Access Theater. There are four rehearsal slots:
Fri July 29th 2016 10am –2pm
Fri July 29th 2016 2pm–6pm
Mon August 1st 2016 10am–2pm
Mon August 1st 2016 2pm–6pm
Playwrights will be allotted 2.5 hours for their reading at The Access Theater. The performance slots are:
August 2nd, 2016 12pm–2:30pm
August 2nd, 2016 2:30–5pm
August 2nd, 2016 5pm–7:30pm
August 2nd, 2016 7:30–10pm
Playwrights will have the opportunity to indicate their rehearsal/performance time availability on the PLAY DATE application. Sylvie Mae Baldwin, Managing Director of OUTLIERS Theatre Co. and playwright of skinny crazy small, is available to conduct a mediated talkback if desired.
What’s provided?
Your reading and rehearsal will take place on the set of OUTLIERS Theatre Co.’s production of THE MAIDS. You will have access to chairs for your actors and our fixed audience seating (max 40 guests).
How does ticketing work?
OUTLIERS Theatre Co. will manage all ticketing for PLAY DATE: SUMMER 2016. Patrons will be able to reserve their free, general admission tickets through the OUTLIERS Theatre Co. online box office once our PLAY DATE event goes live.
