We will begin accepting submissions June 1st - July 31st 2015.

 The 2015 10 by 10 x 10 Ten Minute Play Festival Theme is: "Modern Lives"

PLAY REQUIREMENTS
Playwrights of all ages, genders and ethnicities are encouraged to enter.
Plays must be between 5-10 pages, and no longer than ten minutes in length.
All play genres (drama, comedy, mystery, etc) are acceptable.

Playwrights are asked to explore a topic within the theme "Modern Lives". Topics may include, but are not limited to:

Aging, Anti intellectualism, Authority, Birth Control/Abortion, Bullying,
Capitalism, Celebrity, Charity, Child-rearing, Church vs. State, Corporate Responsibility, Education, Economics, Energy, Environment, Family, Farming, Gentrification, Genocide, Government, Health, Homophobia, Human Rights, Infertility, Marriage/Civil Union, Mental Illness, Morality, Obesity, Terrorism, Technology, Pets, Urban Sprawl, Pandemics, Pollution, Racial/Ethnic Profiling, Racism/Antisemitism, Rehabilitation, Religion, Scarcity, Sexism, Sexuality, Starvation, Unemployment, Vegetarianism, War, & any other issues and/or trends within the theme of "Modern Lives, either intimately or/and globally.

SELECTION, FEES AND NOTIFICATION
There is no fee to submit your play to the festival, however, accepted plays will be required to pay a $10 participation fee upon acceptance. Selected Playwrights may be notified on a rolling basis until all slots have been filled. If your play is selected you will be notified no later than August 15, 2015. Plays must not exceed 10 pages and should be written in standard play format. (one minute per page.) We highly recommend you keep your written play between 5-8 pages.

Playwrights may submit up to two original never performed plays between 5 and 10 minutes in length. Submitted Plays may not have received a stage reading or performance of any caliber (professional or nonprofessional) prior to the festival dates.

PERFORMING YOUR PLAY
Participating Playwrights will be required to create and hire a production team; a director, cast and narrator (for stage direction), and must absorb all related costs. No props will be permitted. Costumes are acceptable. Use of chairs and music stands only. The Festival will supply a moderator, stage manager and technical director for each performance series. The Festival will run a mandatory Tech/Dress Rehearsal the same day of each sessions scheduled performance. Director, actors, and narrator must be present for the Tech/Dress Rehearsal. Playwrights are welcome and encouraged to attend. One seat will be reserved for the playwright for his/her play's performance session.

FESTIVAL SCHEDULE
Saturday October 10, 2015 - Monday October 19, 2015.

Playwrights may not select their date of performance or venue. Notification of date and venue will be assigned. Notification will occur via email on or before August 15th 2015.

Each day of the festival will feature 10 plays per day (2 sessions of 5 plays each). All performances will be at NYC venues easily accessible by public transportation. Session running times are approximately 50 minutes with no intermission. Weekend festival dates may run in the afternoon or evening. Weekday performances will run 7:00 pm (session 1) and 8:30 pm (session 2).

TO SUBMIT
​To enter the festival please submit the following to Info@CoEAST.co no later than midnight July 31, 2015. Each play entry must be submitted separately with 2 pdf attachments that include the following:

A typed formatted pdf file of your original play titled in the following format: ​lastname_firstname_playtitle.pdf

Please include the following information In a separate PDF file in the following format: lastname_firstname_BIO.pdf

100-200 word playwright's biography
50 word play synopsis and a list of characters
Previous play production history (if you have developed this play in a lab, group, class).
Contact information including: playwright's name, mailing address, phone number and email, personal website and social media handles.
